Slimline plates
Looking to upgrade to a Slimline plate? Here's how:
Slimline plates are narrower than standard issue plates and are designed as a better fit for some number plate mountings on vehicles. Slimline plates are available for motor vehicles (except motorcycles and trailers) upon request and will incur an additional slimline fee.
You can update the following types of number plates to Slimline size:

Slimline plates fees and size
This is where it can get a little tricky!
There are a few different scenarios for ordering Slimline plates, some of which mean you will incur an extra fee and others no fee at all applies. Below are a few scenarios to help paint the picture, including a detailed table of fees applicable:
1. Initial purchase of a set of Custom Plates in Slimline - a fee only applies to some plate types.
2. Upgrading your existing plates from Standard to Slimline - a fee applies to most plate types, with some exceptions.
