The price for six-digit Heritage plates will increase to $14,000 as of 22 November 2021. We are always reluctant to raise our prices and are only doing so now to reflect our changed production, distribution, and business costs.

Q1. What is the reason for the price increase?
Custom Plates has been impacted by an increase in manufacturing, distribution and business costs. Unfortunately, we cannot continue to absorb these changed costs, which is why we are raising the price of six-digit Heritage plates at this time.
Q2. Do the price of custom plates increase each year?
We are always looking for ways to maintain our prices, despite rising manufacturing costs. The most recent increase in price of Heritage Plates was in May 2019. At this stage there is no plan to increase the price of custom plates on a yearly basis, however this is subject to change without notice.
Q3. Will any other custom plates be affected with a price rise?
Whilst it can be difficult for us to predict when our prices might change, as of 22 November 2021 there are no plans to increase the price of custom plates however, this is subject to change without notice.
Q4. Where do the funds from the sale of a custom plate go?
When purchasing a custom plate and the rights to display your custom plate, you’re helping to support important road, road safety and community projects to benefit all Victorians.
Q5. I have a brochure that includes the previous cost of the products listed above. Do I now have to pay the increased cost?
The price increase for 6-digit Heritage plates is effective from 22 November 2021. Any purchases made on or from this date will incur the new price. Our brochures and price list advise that prices are subject to change without notice. All brochures and price lists are being updated to reflect the new price.
