Fun plates from over the years!

We’ve been giving our customers the chance to express themselves for over 40 years. Whether it’s a creative combination or a colourful style, custom plates add a dash of individuality to your vehicle.
To make way for the new, sometimes we need to retire styles. Here’s a look back at some of the most fun and creative custom plate designs we’ve had over the years.
Karak Plates
In 2005 we released ‘Karak’ plates to commemorate the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. The plate featured a cartoon representation of the official games mascot ‘Karak’, a South-Eastern Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo issued in the range M06.000 to M06.999. It was a limited run of just 100 plates, raising funds to help save the endangered Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo.

Zodiac plates
In November 2008, we released Zodiac Plates. These plates combined elements of astrology with colour. Each star sign had its own plate with Aries being the most popular.

Illustrator Plates
Whether you’re sporty or creative, Illustrator plates had a design to match your style.
Introduced in 2009, they were all about colour and had 9 different styles. The Flower plate was the most popular style from the range.

Penny the Little Penguin plates
To commemorate the Melbourne 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships, a plate featuring the mascot "Penny the Little Penguin" was produced. Only 1,000 limited edition plates were made available with proceeds going to non-profit organisations involved in protecting the Little Penguin in its natural habitat.
The commemorative plates series was issued in the range M07.000 to M07.999 and in standard size only.
